Tested by us (espresso, home machine)
By Srinivas Madabushi. “I, Srinivas Madabushi, received Atlas Coffee Club on Oct 12, 2026 and brewed it as espresso and as a milk drink on my home Breville.” Tasted Oct 16, 2026.
Disclosure: I paid $22.95 for my first box with my own money: the 2-bag (Double, 24 oz), every-4-weeks plan ($34.00 subtotal, -$17.00 discount, $22.95 order total). It wasn’t free. Morning Regular has no affiliate deal with Atlas, so there are no paid links on this page.
Verdict: I was really impressed. The coffee tasted very fresh, and the packaging and branding were inviting. Just know that after the intro offer it renews at the list price, $34 every 4 weeks on the Double plan.
Atlas says: first bag free with a subscription (its "Fall Sale")
New subscriptions. Double Bag (24 oz): first shipment $17 (was $34), "Get a free bag + always save 34%"; Single $10 (was $20, "50% off"); Half $6.50 (was $13). Atlas shows 30-day money-back and pause, skip or cancel anytime. Renews at $34 (Double), $20 (Single) or $13 (Half) per shipment unless canceled.

What I thought
In my own words, after brewing it:
“The coffee was great. I have tried a bunch from Trader Joe’s and Sprouts but you can taste the difference. The packaging and branding was inviting: the branding, the insights on where the coffee was coming from, and the roasted-to-order story. You can tell the difference between freshly roasted beans and the stuff you get in store. The coffee tasted very fresh. I am really impressed.”
How it tasted
As espresso, it tasted bright, chocolatey and nutty, with a strong flavor, and in a milk drink the coffee still came through clearly. Atlas’s card lists chocolate and roasted nuts too.
In my words: “had a good bright chocolate and nutty feel to it… it had strong note and even with milk you could feel the taste of the coffee real good.”
What I liked
- It tasted very fresh. Compared with the coffee I’ve bought at Trader Joe’s and Sprouts, I could taste the difference.
- Inviting packaging. I found the branding, the story of where the coffee came from, and the roasted-to-order label inviting.
- You learn where it’s from. The box came with a Nicaragua postcard and an origin card listing the region, process and altitude.
- Roasted to order. Each bag’s label says “each batch of coffee is roasted to order in Austin, TX 78744”.
Watch-outs
- The first box is cheaper than the rest. With the Fall Sale, the Double plan’s first shipment was $17. After that it renews at the list price: checkout showed “Recurring subtotal $34.00 every 4 weeks” (checked Oct 15, 2026). The Single plan’s first shipment was $10, then $20; the Half was $6.50, then $13 (checked Oct 15, 2026).
- Shipping isn’t shown up front. Atlas says shipping is shown at checkout after you enter an address (checked Oct 15, 2026). Check the total before you pay.
- It renews until you cancel. Atlas says you can pause, skip or cancel anytime, and it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee (checked Oct 12, 2026; the guarantee was still shown Oct 15, 2026).
- Atlas picks the coffee. Atlas describes each box as part of “a curation” with “a new coffee from a new country” each month. You choose the roast, flavor profile and grind (my order: Dark, Smooth & Balanced, ground for espresso), and Atlas chooses the coffee and country.
Who it’s for
- You’ll like it if you want a coffee from a new country each box, with the story behind it. My one box, the Nicaragua, tasted very fresh to me.
- Look elsewhere if you mainly want the lowest price per cup. See our cheapest coffee subscriptions or Atlas vs Bean Box.
